Dear Friend:
Last month I sent a letter asking you to consider a pledge to PathLight in support of the sponsorship students. Thank you for taking the time to read it and give it careful consideration. Your generosity is not taken for granted, and I know how difficult it is to make a pledge during these difficult economic times.
At this point we have eight unsponsored students in the program. We started the academic year with twelve, so we are making progress! Thank you if you are among those who sent pledges of support. Now we need another eight people to step forward with a $150 a month pledge, or 16 people at $75.
Would you consider being one of those people? Your gift will help a student stay in school. More importantly, it helps a student thrive academically, spiritually and socially. You can make that happen.
As you consider this request, let me share a simple thought with you. Recently it came to our attention that PathLight now impacts about 1% of the population of Belize. It's striking how our small organization has created such a broad reach in so short a period of time. That 1% could include future leaders in business, politics, education, medicine, law....and won't it be great to know that you made it possible for them to thrive? At our staff and advisory board retreat recently we talked about eventually impacting 10% of Belize. The work of PathLight - with your support and prayer - can literally transform a country!
So please join us in this important endeavor. There are boys and girls who are closer to God, more academically skilled, and better prepared to tackle the tough issues of their country because of our donors. I hope you will join us!
